Recipe: Fee-plan MAM fields

Where it is

Directory → Fees / Plans → (add or edit a plan). Below the standard Business Directory plan fields, a Mobile App Manager Settings section appears. These fields apply to every listing assigned to the plan.

Business Directory has no plan/package meta table, so these values are stored in the plan’s own extra_data['mam'] array — the same core-blessed store used for the plan’s private/bgcolor flags. The data travels with the plan everywhere wpbdp_get_fee_plan() is read.

The fields

Field Key Meaning
Number of Push Notifications per month pn_per_month Monthly push quota for listings on this plan. Blank = default (10). 0 removes the cap.
Number of Special Offers included no_of_deals_included How many active offers a listing may run. Blank = default.
Number of Staff Members no_of_staff_members Manager/staff invite cap. Blank = default (5).
Chat With Venue chat_with_venue yes/no, defaults yes. Chat is allowed unless this is explicitly set to No.
WooCommerce Product ID woocommerce_product_id Product id (or SKU) used when this plan is purchased as a paid claim; also drives the in-app purchase SKU.

Numeric fields distinguish blank from zero. A blank field stores an empty value that consumers read as “not configured” (they use their default); an entered 0 is preserved and means zero (for pn_per_month, zero disables the push cap).

Chat gate semantics. The app allows chat with a listing unless its plan’s chat_with_venue is a falsy value (no/0/off/false). A plan with no MAM meta at all is treated as “allowed” — the no-code default — so chat works before you ever touch the plan screen.

When a listing is claimed on a paid rail, the eligible plans are the Business Directory fee plans matching the listing’s categories. woocommerce_product_id on the chosen plan resolves to the store product (Stripe) or the in-app purchase SKU (IAP).

Caveat: a $0 enabled plan whose categories match a listing completes a claim without approval — this is native Business Directory behavior. Do not configure a $0 plan if you want claims to require admin approval.
