Before you start
- Finish the setup in MAM Brevo Email Manager Overview: API key saved, connection test passed, list chosen, roles ticked, attributes created.
- Only add people who agreed to receive your email. If you are moving from another email tool, import your unsubscribed and cleaned contacts into Brevo as blocklisted first, so they are not mailed again.
The sync uses the Roles to sync setting. Users in other roles are skipped.
From the admin screen
- Go to WP Admin > Mobile App Mgr > Brevo.
- In Sync existing users, click Sync all existing users and confirm.
- The run works through users in batches of 25 in the background. Reload the page to see progress: processed, synced, skipped, errors and the last user ID.
- Click Stop to pause. Resume continues from the last user processed.
If Brevo rate-limits the site, the run pauses on that user and continues after the wait Brevo asks for.
With WP-CLI
Preview first. Nothing is sent to Brevo:
wp mam-brevo backfill --dry-run --limit=20
Run it:
wp mam-brevo backfill
Options:
| Option | Meaning |
|---|---|
--role=<role> |
Only this role, instead of the roles on the settings screen. |
--limit=<n> |
Stop after this many users. |
--batch=<n> |
Users per batch (default 25). |
--resume |
Continue from where the last run (CLI or admin) stopped. |
--dry-run |
Show each user and what would be sent. |
The CLI and the admin button share the same progress record, so a run started in one can be resumed in the other. Starting the CLI stops a background run first, so the two never work at the same time.
What happens to each user
Each user goes through the same sync as a new signup: the contact is created or updated by email, added to your list, and given the attributes your site sends. Running the backfill twice is safe. Existing contacts are updated, not duplicated.
