GeoDirectory map filters

What it does

Turns on a second row of filter chips on your app’s maps, under the category chips. The person taps a chip and the
map shows only the places that match. The chips work on the phone, so they are instant.

Filter Shows Line on the pin card
Rated 4+ Places with an average rating of 4 or more 4.5 ★ · 12 reviews
Has upcoming events Places with at least one published event that is not over 2 upcoming events
Featured Places marked Featured in GeoDirectory Featured

Tap a chip to turn it on and tap it again to turn it off. With no chip on, every place shows. With Rated 4+ or Has upcoming events selected, the list under
the map is ordered by the rating or the number of events, highest first.

Turn it on

  1. Go to Mobile App Manager → Geodirectory → Settings.
  2. Under Map filters, tick the filters you want.
  3. Click Save. Untick them all to turn the chips off.

Nothing is selected by default, and the app payload is unchanged until you pick at least one.

Where the chips appear

  • GeoDirectory list buttons and GeoDirectory map buttons (map_filters on the button).
  • The Map button, which shows every directory’s places.

Each place in a GeoDirectory list or map gets map_filter_values and map_card_lines for the filters it matches.
A place that matches none gets neither key. The keys are described in Map keys: pins, pin card, List/Map switch and
map filters
(mam-main).

Notes

  • Upcoming events come from the same place as the venue’s Events section: events linked to the place that are
    published and not over.
  • Featured is GeoDirectory’s own Featured flag on the listing.
  • The option is stored in the WordPress option mam_gd_map_filters (an array of rated_4, has_events,
    featured).
  • Map chips need an app build with the new map screen. Older builds ignore the keys.
