Sign in with an emailed code

When on (the default), the app’s login screen shows Email me a sign-in code. The person enters their email
(or username), your site emails them a 6-digit code, and they type it into the app to sign in. It helps people
who don’t know their password, for example because their browser saved it for them.

  • Works for every role, administrators included. Your site’s other login rules still apply, such as one signed-in
device per user and “Support team only” on the Support app.
  • Your site sends and checks the code itself. A code lasts 10 minutes, works once, and stops working after 5
wrong tries. Each account can ask for 3 codes every 15 minutes.
  • The app never says whether an email has an account.
  • The email is the User Roles – Sign-in Code notification. Edit its subject and text on the Notifications
    screen.

Set it to No to hide the link and accept passwords only.

Requires MAM Main 26.42.18 or later. Older versions of MAM Main don’t show the link.

Type: Yes / No · Scope: All roles · Default: Yes
